Welcome to Praslin, Welcome to The House.
Praslin, with a population of 6,500 people, is Seychelles' second largest island. It lies 45km to the northeast of Mahé and measures 10km by 3.7km. A leisurely tour around the island by car will take approximately 2 hours.
Anse La Blague is a small village with around two hundred inhabitants, on the north-east coast of Praslin. It boasts two beautiful beaches, namely, Pti l'anse and Grand anse. On both, it is extremely safe for children to swim and the snorkeling is excellent. The House is situated between these two beaches (see pictures).
There is a church and a small shop and a regular (but infrequent!) bus service to the nearby towns of Baie St. Anne or Cote d'Or, where there are several hotels, larger shops, banks and the main hospital. Journey time is 8 minutes. From the jetty in Baie St. Anne there are frequent boats to La Digue and a fast ferry to Mahe and trips can be arranged to other islands such as Curieuse and Cousin.
Dive centres and car hire companies are also to be found within a short drive from Anse La Blague. Some further distance away is the airport and the golf course. Anse La Blague is rather quiet and entertainment at night requires travel to the hotels or the discotheque.
